The Ascension: The Art of Jonathan Lowe

Jonathan Lowe is an artist that hails from the Sacramento region.  His realm of expertise is traditional oil painting and watercolor.  What inspires his themes are raw emotions such as pain and joy.  It is through experience and the suffering in this life that humans can understand one another.  

My mission in art has changed over the years.  But the one that has stuck with me the most is to search for truth at all cost, and to express it in any form possible.  

The first men were visionary artisans, armed with a profound understanding of the cosmos but were cave paintings.  but the oldest stories are linked to our ancestors, to our cultures, to the cosmos, to the stars.  '

I wish for you to join me on this journey as I explore this territory of the unknown on this short journey we call existence. I hope you will experience this with me.

The mirrors of you and me.

I was fascinated with portraits and expressions when I was younger. When talking to someone one on one, you can see the universe in someone’s eyes. you can see the journey that they had led. You see the performance, The pain, the desire that they hold onto. The scars they refuse to show. The happiness that does come to the surface. The world is a wonderful place.

THE LONG VOID

My personal project of mine is the search for truth. It might be one that you share as well. My art has become more than an expression of myself but how the world really is. There is something that is hidden and what usually is hides right in front of our faces. The medium that I choose to explore this uncharted territory is paint. The oldest stories were told by the cave dwellers who didn’t know or had the technology or science we had today.
